While it has yet to announce any truly new handsets from Nokia World in Amsterdam, today Nokia announced a new variant of an existing design. The new 3110 Evolve is an update of the 3110 Classic that was announced earlier this year at 3GSM.

This new Evolve version of the 3110 uses what Nokia is touting as a 'bio-cover', an external shell that is made from more than 50% renewable material instead of the normal plastics that are typically used on other handsets. Additionally, the 3110 Evolve ships in a small, space-saving package that is made of 60% recycled materials. The charger that is included in this new compact package is Nokia's most energy efficient yet: Nokia claims it uses 94% less energy than the U.S. government's Energy Star program requires.

Like the 3110 Classic, the new 3110 Evolve is a tri-band GSM device that is equipped with a 262k color, 160x128 pixel display. It handles multimedia tasks with a 1.3 megapixel camera, a music player, a microSD memory card slot, and a built-in FM radio. Nokia has yet to provide any pricing or availability information for the 3110 Evolve. The 3110 Classic, however, is currently available in many markets.
